Overview
After years of tent camping, we were ready for something more comfortable, weatherproof, and convenient—so in the summer of 2024, we got this custom-built Ford Transit. Camping in a rain- and wind-proof van has completely changed the way we experience the outdoors.
American VanWorks took care of the flooring, walls, ceiling, fan, lights, and safari rack—while I built the wood shelving, sink, and bed frames myself. The result is a fully-functional, family-friendly camper that’s surprisingly easy to drive and perfect for making memories.
Features We Love
• Sleeps 4: The van sleeps 2 adults (below) and 2 kids (in the loft) under comfy duvets—ensuring everyone gets a restful night’s sleep after a day of outdoor fun.
• Ample Storage: The safari rack on top and central aisle inside the van make it easy to store large items like surfboards, kayaks, or mountain bikes.
