Overview
Wanting to camp with your family but don't own a pickup truck? We've got the perfect camper for you! After several years of renting RVs, we bought this rare 2016 Sonic Lite SL169VBH. For us, it is the perfect camper that has all the amenities of the bigger campers, but can be towed by a vehicle with only a 5,000lb towing capacity. Since we only use it a few times a year, we decided to help other families have fun in the great outdoors by renting it out!
At the front of the camper is a big, newly-reupholstered dinette that comfortably sits 4 adults. We added a small back bench (suitable for kids), making it into a slight U-shape.
Over the dinette is a (short) Queen murphy bed that easily folds down. No need to "make" your bed every night! It not only saves space, but in the morning you can put it away with bedding on! We upgraded the mattress to a comfy memory foam mattress.
The two extra-long bunks are along the back of the camper and are plenty big enough for teenagers. It gives them a space of their own with minimal effort. We upgraded these mattresses as well from the usual thin "Teddy Bear" RV bunk mattresses to beds that are comfortable enough for adults.
Hate tiny wet baths?! So do we! This camper has a *full* bathroom with a sink and even a small tub... which is great if you have little ones!
The kitchen is fully equipped with a nice sink with pull-out sprayer, 2-burner propane stove, and a microwave/convection oven. There is a fridge with a small freezer compartment that works off both propane and electricity. There are plenty of cabinets for storing food and kitchen items including a huge pantry cabinet that is great for storing clothes or activities for the kids.
There is also a back door into the bunk area which is great for storing bikes. The bottom bunk folds up and we have fit 2 adult bikes (with modifications) and 2 small kids bikes in without issue. The pass-through outside storage area in the front is perfect for keeping all the RV tools and items for the campsite (many of which are included).
We even recently installed JT's Strong Arm Jack Stabilizer Kit, which has made the camper rock solid and eliminated movement and bounciness. This is especially good at night if someone in a bunk tends to toss and turn a lot. :)
