"Cocoon"-Custom Off Grid, 2021 Ram Promaster 3500

“Cocoon” is a custom designed 2021 Ram Promaster 3500 extended van built for maximum comfort and adventure. This professional conversion by Interstate Vans, Tyngsborough, MA is fully equipped for boondocking or campgrounds and everything in between. Constructed in the early part of 2022, Cocoon embarked westward in April, on our first 3 month adventure. We are a repurposed couple and our dog Lucky, exploring the beauty and magic of our country. We welcome the opportunity to share our mobile tiny home with like minded people, while we spend time at our New England home base closeby to our 4 grandchildren. “The Lounge”…the U shaped couch converts to a queen size bed in just minutes. The couch accommodates 4 adults and has lots of pillows to get cozy. Whether dining, working or playing the swiveling Lagun table adjusts to the perfect position. Overhead storage cabinets all the way around with dimmable LED lighting, nighttime reading lights and lots of USB ports. There is additional storage below the couches including 2 camp chairs with umbrellas. On each side is a sliding window in combination with the MaxAir roof fan providing unlimited air circulation in either direction. All cabin windows have blackout curtains for privacy and comfort. Above is a 6800 BTU Dometic air conditioner powered directly from the 540 amp Lithium Ion power bank. A 23”Smart TV on a swivel mount is viewable from any position ready to stream from your mobile device. A weBoost cell phone amplifier is positioned in the rear of the lounge. “The Galley”…everything you need; ample storage above and below, work surfaces, USB ports/ AC outlets and a fully equipped kitchen. Includes the following; 2 burner induction cooktop, microwave/convection oven, marine refrigerator/freezer, deep stainless sink, dinnerware, cutlery, cookware, toaster, coffee maker, spices, cups and glasses. The fresh water system consists of; 40 gallon storage, instant 4 gal. Bosch hot water heater on a timer, Accuva UV-LED water purification, 6 gal. gray water tank with auto switch for discreet release below the van, soap dispenser, a 14x14x10 deep stainless sink with pull out spray faucet. Cocoon is equipped with a slide out self contained Separett toilet and privacy curtain, that is easy to use and maintain (no messy cleanup). Fire extinguisher and smoke/CO2 alarm situated in the Galley. Lastly there is a hot/cold outdoor shower in the rear with privacy curtain. “Energy System”…designed for ultimate independence this system starts with 540 Amp hrs of Battle Born Lithium Ion batteries, 3,000 watt Inverter , 600 watts of rooftop solar, 60 amp DC to DC charging while traveling and 20 amp shore power plug in capability. The system is monitored and controlled from a full color touch screen mounted in the overhead galley. This control panel also monitors fresh and gray water levels, cabin temps, battery levels and is accompanied by an Espar Airtronic Cabin heater. This heater is fueled directly from the 24 gallon Promaster gas tank. There is NO propane or generator in Cocoon. No worries, the system manages itself. There are very few buttons to push. Depending on your power needs this system will supply power for 2-4 days without any sun or turning on the engine….tried and tested “Front Cabin”…6 speed automatic/manual transmission, back up camera, large oversized side mirrors, fog lamps, cruise control, AC, USB, Android/Apple connect. “Rear Storage”…the doors swing open to access additional storage, folding camp table, charcoal grill, outdoor shower, water fill up, tools and camp supplies, & AC outlet. Cocoon comes equipped with a lockable swing away bike rack that can hold two 60 lbs. fat tire bikes. On the side of the van is a full length Fiamma awning. LED changeable lighting below the van to light up the ground at your campsite.
