Sunset - (Kona - Big Island)

Located in Kona on the beautiful island of Hawaii (The Big Island), Sunset is one of Campervan Hawaii’s Mercedes Metris pop-top campervans with sleeping for 4 and seating for 5 and is great for cruising around the island. It features a rear seat that easily converts to a large queen bed at night and a pop-top which opens up to allow you to stand up inside the van and also converts to another 2 person bed. It has a large 50qt refrigerator, a full camp kitchen, a shade awning, a Tempurpedic mattress topper on the lower bed, swiveling front seats, bug screen for the rear hatch, a roof vent fan, 120V AC outlets, 12V USB outlets, custom full blackout curtains, surfboard racks, 3 gallon portable “Rinse Kit” shower, a stereo with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and we on top of all that, we outfit the van with all the linens and camping gear for your Hawaii campervan adventure. All of these features mentioned above make this a very comfortable van to sleep in. The roof vent fan moves the hot air out of the campervan all night long while bringing in fresh air through the rear hatch screen and over the bed. Pair this with the fans inside the campervan where you can aim air right on your bed and you have a perfect combination for great sleep. The power system in this campervan includes a separate lithium house battery which will provide power all night long for the fridge, lights, fans, stereo, and even a CPAP machine. This house battery charges both while you drive and while you are camping using the roof mounted solar panel so you will never run out of power. Arriving: Our standard check-in time is 3:00PM. If available, you may be able to check in sooner for an additional fee of $10/hr should you want your campervan earlier than 3:00PM. Let us know if you would like early check-in and we will try and accommodate you but it is not guaranteed. We are located at 73-4145 Hulikoa Dr which is around 4 miles south of the Kona (KOA) airport. The best way of getting there is by using a rideshare like Uber or Lyft and alternatively there are taxis but they tend to be more expensive. Once there, we will go over the campervan with you, teach you how to use it, answer any questions you might have and will get you on the road. Camping: Camping on The Big Island does require you to have a campsite for each night as there is no free camping. It is the first Add-on. If not added during checkout, then we will automatically add it to your reservation. We outfit this campervan with 1 set of sheets for 1-2 people and add another set for the 3rd and 4th person for the upper bed. If there are 2 people in this van that will be sleeping in both beds, then please pick the Add-on “Extra Sheet Set for Upper Bed” so we are sure to supply bed linens for both beds. Since this van has been in our fleet for 4 years now, it does show some wear and tear and is priced accordingly, but it still remains one of our most popular campervans for cruising around the island. And lastly, when choosing to book through a 3rd party website like Outdoorsy, you will be required to purchase insurance through them even if you have your own insurance that would cover this campervan rental.
